The family of Eddie Colman, one of the United players who died in the Munich air crash, have donated over £10,000 to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
The charity's Honorary Secretary, Kath Smith said "Completely out of the blue I received a cheque for £10,460. The letter with it explained that it was from the Munich Memorial Fund - at the request of Eddie Colman's relatives."
"It was a wonderful surprise and the money will go towards the £30,000 we are trying to raise to buy equipment for keyhole surgery."
The charity has now raised over £846,000 since it was launched in 1983. Kath said "I want to take the total to £1M by the year 2000 when I will be 85."
